Bachelor and Master Programmes

Bachelor's Programme

The bachelor’s programme lasts 6 semesters and students are awarded a "Bachelor of Science" (BSc) degree. 90% of the courses are required subjects from the following 4 primary areas:
  • Technical and scientific basic principles (mathematics, physics, signal processing, systems engineering)
  • Electrical engineering and information technology subjects
  • Computer science subjects
  • Engineer techniques (project management, rhetoric, presentation skills among others)
Students are provided with a balanced dose of fields of competence between current scientific principles and pre-professional education and training. What is important here is that graduates with a sound university education can get a start on an attractive career in no time at all. In telematics great store is also set on providing the ever more important "soft skills". Team work, projects, presentations as well as international contacts ensure an excellent pre-professional education and training suited to the students’ personalities. The bachelor’s programme is the basis of the subsequent four-semester master's programme.

Master's Programme

The master’s programme (Dipl.-Ing.) is based on the bachelor’s programme and lasts 4 semesters. However, students with other suitable educational backgrounds can also enrol for the master’s programme. It is for the purposes of specialisation, and is comprised completely of special areas that can be chosen.
Students choose two main subjects. These special areas can be chosen from a wide range of options.
Some of these special areas are:
  • Security in information technology
  • System-on-chip design
  • Computational intelligence
  • Computer vision and graphics
  • Multimedia
  • Telecommunications and mobile computing
  • Designing electronic devices
  • Micro-electronics
  • Medical informatics and neuroinformatics
  • Software technology
  • Computer technology
  • Audio technology
  • and much more.
